New Arena Hotel – Bali – Indonesia

New Arena Hotel

The New Arena Hotel isn´t considered a backpacker’s accommodation anymore. I would say it is more upgraded, maybe like a 1 or 2-star hotel (by European standards). During my travels, I had stayed in this hotel twice, once in a standard room and once in a double room. The double room was much bigger than the standard room, having enough room for 3 people to stay in. I consider both rooms to be value for money – nice furniture with traditional Bali style décor. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. All rooms were air-conditioned and came with a TV (man, it has been ages since I had a TV in my room).

The hotel is situated approximately 10 minutes from the beach, making this a slightly better option than those located near Poppies Lane, at least for those who want to stay closer to the beach.

Yes, this is a TV! In MY room!

A good accommodation to share with 2 others for a reasonable price.

The hotel has a big pool area with sun beds for sunlovers who like to relax and sunbath. The reviews on tripadvisor were quite negative, probably from people who had higher expectations of the place. I, who had changed from a 5€ room to this, felt this hotel was an upgrade. A lot of reviews at tripadvisor also talk about a theft problem in this hotel, which made me conscious about taking better care of my luggage – leaving my luggage locked all the time. But I have never had a problem here and enjoyed my stay very much.

This hotel has a proper reception where you can ask for directions and information, such as motorbike rental, to make your stay a more enjoyable one.
